"Motacilla alba"

This small passerine prefers insects and is seen in urban areas such as car parks.

They are 16 to 19cm in length

They have a wingspan of 25cm

They weigh in at 25g.

They live for up to 12 years in the wild.

Breeding season is between April to August

and they can have up to 3 clutches per year.

They make a nest made of twigs grass,

leaves, roots, and moss.

It is lined with feathers, wool, or hair.

She will lay between 3 and 8 eggs and incubates

them for 12 to 15 days.

Both adults feed the young for around 3 weeks.

If food is scarce this adaptable bird will seek out us humans as they know we will leave them scraps to eat.
