"Saxicola rubetra"

This migratory passerine is a small bird that perches on tops of bushes and low trees and is often seen running or hopping on the ground.

It has a white stripe above the eye and is brown above and has an orange breast.

It is a summer visitor and breeds in upland areas.

It eats insects and seeds

It measures 12.5 cm in length

and has a wingspan of 21 to 24cm

and weighs in at 16 to 24g

It is similar to the stonechat
