Reed Bunting

This sparrow sized bird with its black head and white collar is a member of the bunting family.

Its an amber listed species

It feeds on insects and seeds.

It measures 15 to 17cm in length

It has a wingspan of 21 to 28cm

They weigh in at between 16 and 25g.

They are a wetland and farmland bird and will often be seen at the top of a bush or tree singing.

It can be seen all year round.
