The Red Legged Partridge has a grey body with a red eye patch and orangey / red stripes.

It has a red beak and red legs.

It is 32 to 34cm in length

It has a wingspan of 46 to 50cm

It weighs in at between 400 and 550g

They can be seen all year round mostly in England and Wales and in eastern Scotland.

This gamebird of the pheasant family is also known as the French Partridge.

This plump little bird was introduced to Britain in the 1770s
