Cormorant

"Phalacrocorax carbo"

There are 40 species of aquatic birds commonly known as Cormorants and Shags.

It is very often seen on a rock with its wings out stretched to dry after a fishing trip.

They are between 80 and 100cm in length with a 130 to 160cm wingspan. They weigh in at between 2.1 and 2.5kg.

There are 9000 breeding g pairs in the uk.
