A quiet and secretive bird it feeds on insects, berries, seeds, and buds.
They nest in shrubs or bushes and the nest is built by the female.
She lays and incubates the eggs and both parents feed the young after they have hatched.
They were on the red list but are now on the amber list as their numbers are increasing.
They are 15cm in length.
They have a wingspan of 22 to 29cm.
They weigh in at 27 to 38g.
There are 190,000 breeding pairs in the uk.
