Arctic Tern

The Arctic Tern is a medium sized bird that nests in colonies on sandy or shingle beaches. They are very noisy and will attack intruders, This grey and white bird with its striking red bill and red legs with a black cap is similar to the Common Tern.

The Arctic Tern is 33 to 35cm in length and has a wingspan of 80cm. It weighs in at around 110g. They live to be around 13 years
